EcoFit Lighting The smart solution. The right fit.

Lifetime Expectancy and Heat Data (LM-80)

.

We keep our LEDs cool for superior LED life.

EcoFit had an independent test laboratory, the Advanced Manufacturing Institute, test the performance of our products under a variety of ambient conditions. Download the AMI report, which shows that the DuraStreet Series LED Light Engine maintains TJ —the most critical measure of LED performance and long life—at or below the recommendations published by our LED suppliers, Cree.

Specification Sheet

Using the AMI test data for a specific drive current and outdoor temperature, the L70 lifetime expectancy is calculated by combining measured ambient and junction temperatures with LM-80 data from the LED manufacturer (Cree). An example using the Durastreet 42 Series unit operating at 525mA is provided below.

Combining the AMI data with the graph above yields the following L70 lifetime calculations for a variety of outdoor temperatures.

Example: DuraStreet 42 Series (525mA)
Outdoor Temperature (°C)
Ambient LED Temperature (°C)
Junction Temperature (°C)

For example, when the DuraStreet 42 Series (525mA) is operated at an outside temperature of 25°C (or about 77°F), the ambient temperature is 44.6°C and the LED junction temperature is 80.6°C, yielding L70 life expectancy of > 85,000 hours.  The L70 life expectancy of each EcoFit product is provided in the specification sheets.
